Basketball Game Preview: Hillsboro Tigers vs. Westby Norsemen

The Hillsboro Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Westby Norsemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hillsboro faced off against Bangor last Friday. Hillsboro was outmatched by Bangor and fell 71-28. The Tigers have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Westby lost 60-40 to Kickapoo on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Norsemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Panthers are ranked 160th).

Hillsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Westby, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Hillsboro came out on top in a nail-biter against Westby in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 41-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillsboro since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
