The home team had won the previous four meetings between Straughn and Pike County, and Straughn kept the tradition alive. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Tigers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Straughn took every set by at least 25 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Blakeley Smith paced Straughn's offense, picking up 14 kills. Smith got some help from Kylee Brown and her 16 assists. Baida Canant controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Straughn is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. As for Pike County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
