Soccer Game Preview: Chapel Hill vs. Pleasant Grove

Chapel Hill hasn't had much luck against Pleasant Grove recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chapel Hill Red Devils will welcome the Pleasant Grove Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Chapel Hill will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating North Lamar, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Chapel Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against North Lamar on Friday, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pleasant Grove). Their defense stepped up to hand Liberty-Eylau a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Hawks with their most commanding win of the season.

Chapel Hill has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5-2.

Chapel Hill suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Pleasant Grove when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Chapel Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
