Basketball Game Preview: Woodson Cowboys vs. Petersburg Buffaloes

Having just played yesterday, the Woodson Cowboys will jump right back in to play the Petersburg Buffaloes at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday. Woodson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Woodson picked up another tournament win on Friday. They strolled past Ralls with points to spare, taking the game 44-27.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Malcuit, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Malcuit is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gunner Oliver, who posted 14 points.

Woodson was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Petersburg). They took down Wellman-Union 54-35 on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Buffaloes with their most commanding win of the season.

Petersburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Woodson, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
