Jena entered their tilt with Vidalia on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Giants, who have now won 14 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Calex Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Zoyle Gemar was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Brayden Oakes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Jena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are 13-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Jena's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Vidalia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Jena and Vidalia could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Jena (ranked 92nd) will meet Benton (ranked fifth) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Vidalia will challenge Family Community Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday down 126 places (231 vs. 105).
