A feisty cat fight will be fought as Canyon View Jaguars duke it out with Willow Canyon Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Canyon View sitting on five straight wins and Willow Canyon on four.
On Tuesday, Canyon View made easy work of Desert Edge and carried off a 12-1 victory. Considering the Jaguars have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Josiah Rodriguez tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk).

Matt Huff looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cameron Davidson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Malachi Lemau was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Canyon View pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Willow Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
Everything went Canyon View's way against Willow Canyon in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Canyon View made off with a 13-2 win. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
