Softball Game Preview: Glendora Tartans vs. Claremont Wolfpack

The Glendora Tartans will venture away from home to challenge the Claremont Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Glendora blew Diamond Bar out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Diamond Bar got their revenge. Glendora fell just short of Diamond Bar by a score of 4-2. The Tartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kylie Coleman was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Claremont came up short against Bonita on Tuesday, falling 11-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Glendora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Claremont struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Glendora's way against Claremont when the teams last played on March 11th, as Glendora made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glendora since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
