After a string of six wins, Weddington's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Marvin Ridge Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-7, 25-12.

Leading Marvin Ridge to victory were Brooklyn Wilson and Jillian Young. Wilson had 20 digs and two assists, while Young had 12 digs and three aces. Young is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 48 games she's played dating back to last season.

Weddington's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Marvin Ridge, they pushed their record up to 27-2 with the victory, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Weddington nor the Mavericks have any future games scheduled.
