Recap: Serra Padres vs. Mater Dei Monarchs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Serra Padres can now relate to. They were beaten by the Monarchs 35-0 on Saturday. Serra's defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Elijah Brown looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 310 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Marcus Harris, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Mater Dei's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Nasir Wyatt and his two sacks.
Serra's defeat dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Mater Dei, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.
Serra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mater Dei also has no future games currently scheduled.
