Baseball Recap: Anderson Takes a Loss

Anderson lost against Kokomo last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians fell just short of the Wildkats by a score of 6-5. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Branson Hemme put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Anderson is 3-1 when Hemme posts two or more runs, but 8-12 otherwise.

In other batting news, Isaac McKenzie was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Hunter Anderson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Kokomo, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Anderson will face off against Warren Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kokomo, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 win against Lebanon on the 22nd.
