Basketball Recap: Roybal's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Roybal was the 49-45 winner over Robert F. Kennedy Community when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Roybal Titans fell 65-56 to the Robert F. Kennedy Community Bobcats on Friday.

Roybal lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Samuel Kunga, who posted 16 points. Kunga's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abayome Shambulia, who scored 14 points.

Roybal's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Robert F. Kennedy Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Roybal will face off against Bernstein at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Bernstein knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Roybal likes a good challenge. As for Robert F. Kennedy Community, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-33 win against Belmont on the 22nd.
