Basketball Recap: Shareece Raining Bird's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Box Elder over Fort Benton

Box Elder lost against Fort Benton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Box Elder Bears fell 46-37 to the Fort Benton Longhorns.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shareece Raining Bird, who posted 15 points. That's the most points Raining Bird has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Martay Stiffarm-Rosette, who scored 11 points.

Box Elder's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Fort Benton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing North Star the next time they take the court. Box Elder will head out to face North Star at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Fort Benton will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
