Football Recap: Melrose Takes a Loss

Melrose lost against Stoneham back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Hawks took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The matchup marked the Red Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Melrose's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Stoneham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Melrose and Stoneham will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Red Hawks see the field they'll take on Wakefield Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Stoneham, their break will end when they face Reading Memorial at 10:15 a.m. on the 27th.
