Soccer Preview: Lewis vs. Mount Vernon
The Lewis Lancers will head out on the road to challenge the Mount Vernon Majors at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewis' last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Friday, Lewis faced Falls Church in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lewis beat Falls Church by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. The result kept Lewis happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Jeremy Orellana, who scored both of Lewis' goals. The pair have combined for a total of 11 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Mount Vernon kept a clean sheet against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology on Friday. They skirted past the Colonials 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Mount Vernon was the better team in the second half.
Lewis' win bumped their record up to 7-0-1. As for Mount Vernon, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
