Basketball Game Preview: Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots vs. Stuart Hall Dragons

The Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Stuart Hall Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lynchburg HomeSchool is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Southwest Virginia Academy 72-55 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Patriots who have now won four matches in a row.

Josiah Jantomaso and Carson Hill were among the main playmakers for Lynchburg HomeSchool as the former went 10 of 19 en route to 28 points and the latter posted 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jantomaso has scored at least a third of Lynchburg HomeSchool's points. Bruce Phillips was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Stuart Hall didn't have too much trouble with Harrisonburg HomeSchool on Tuesday as they won 60-46. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Lightning are ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lynchburg HomeSchool pushed their record up to 7-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Stuart Hall, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Lynchburg HomeSchool came up short against Stuart Hall in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 74-67. Can Lynchburg HomeSchool avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
