San Leandro won the last time they faced Mt. Eden and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pirates blew past the Monarchs 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

While San Leandro won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-22, 25-19.

Alexandra Santos paced San Leandro's offense, picking up 16 kills. Santos got some help from Fiona Xu and her 15 assists. Santos was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

San Leandro now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Mt. Eden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. San Leandro will face off against rival Hayward at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Eden is set to challenge their familiar foe Tennyson at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
