Volleyball Game Preview: Canton C-Hawks vs. Vermillion Tanagers

The Canton C-Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Vermillion Tanagers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canton will be strutting in after a win while Vermillion will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Canton turned things around against Garretson on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blue Dragons. The C-Hawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).

While Canton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Ponca.

While Vermillion was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Ponca's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-22.

Vermillion's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Canton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-15.

Canton beat Vermillion 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the C-Hawks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
