Baseball Recap: Galt Takes a Loss

Galt had lost seven straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 5-12 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Argonaut Mustangs by a score of 5-4. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Galt got a good showing from Cash Myrick, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero earned runs gave Myrick a new career-low.

At the plate, Cody Dixon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Russell, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Argonaut, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 13th.

On Argonaut's side, Shane Macauley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Macauley is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-10 when he doesn't).

While Galt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
