Softball Recap: Bristol-Plymouth RVT Beats Westport for Their Fifth Straight Win

Bristol-Plymouth RVT came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Westport Wildcats 15-2. The Craftsmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Bristol-Plymouth RVT got a great performance from Gabrianna Arrighi as she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Arrighi has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shelby Estrella, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria D'Aiello, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Bristol-Plymouth RVT was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.

Bristol-Plymouth RVT's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Westport, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Bristol-Plymouth RVT will host Southeastern RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westport, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lexington at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
