Soccer Recap: Westview's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

While Westview didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Peoria Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Panthers are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Erick Bello and Dante Acosta scored all three of Westview's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

The win was the seventh in a row for Westview, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. As for Peoria, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Westview will be taking part in a tournament against Empire at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th. Empire will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Westview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Peoria, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mesquite at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Peoria is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
