Basketball Recap: Amador Valley Falls Short of Redwood in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Amador Valley couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Redwood Giants by a score of 49-47 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Giants are ranked 35th).

Amador Valley dropped their record down to 21-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Redwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 21 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Amador Valley and Redwood are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Amador Valley will take on Clayton Valley Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Redwood, they will square off against Dougherty Valley on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dougherty Valley comes in on three and Redwood on ten.
