Basketball Recap: FAU High Drops Season-High Score on Berean Christian

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but FAU High ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with an 80-70 win over the Berean Christian Bulldogs. The Owls' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

FAU High's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shepherd Britton, who posted 34 points. Those 34 points gave Britton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarret Mauvais, who had 22 points.

Despite the loss, Berean Christian still got an impressive performance from Derek Vasquez, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 12 boards. The match was Vasquez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Matthew Wall was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for FAU High, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Berean Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

FAU High wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-59 loss against Somerset Prep on the 11th. As for Berean Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-36 win against Glades Day on the 12th.
