Basketball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was the 50-49 winner over Maricopa when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain View Mountain Lions took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maricopa Rams. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maricopa found their leader in freshman Kaliha Norwood, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which Norwood has scored at least a third of Maricopa's points. Another player making a difference was Jenifer Gordoa, who posted two points along with 14 rebounds, seven blocks, and four steals.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Maricopa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View has already played their next matchup (against Casa Grande), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Maricopa has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Catalina Foothills.
