Baseball Recap: Eagle Rock Comes Up Short

Eagle Rock and Fremont squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Eagle Rock had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pathfinders by a score of 7-6. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Jet Eells was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-6 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Louis Torres was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jaden Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Eagle Rock's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Eagle Rock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fremont, they will take on Maywood CES at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Pathfinders surely won't give up without a fight.
