Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger walked away with it. Everything went their way against the DeKalb Barons on Thursday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. Considering the Saints have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lucas Collins was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braden Aguirre, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Eddie Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as DeKalb only posted an OBP of .375.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's record now sits at 21-8. As for DeKalb, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-7.
