Softball Recap: Southeast Alamance Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Southeast Alamance walked away with it. They came out on top against the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stallions.

Maiya Woody spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Ava Wheeley was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Katie Lloyd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Southeast Alamance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as C.B. Aycock only posted a batting average of .267.

Southeast Alamance's win bumped their record up to 25-1. As for C.B. Aycock, they moved to 19-5 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Coming up, Southeast Alamance will face off against Rockingham County on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Stallions 1.8, the Cougars 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. C.B. Aycock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
