Softball Recap: Orchard Park Find Success

Orchard Park gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the Clarence Red Devils by a score of 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Quakers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

Reese Politowski was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sarah Chojnacki, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ella Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Orchard Park's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Clarence, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Orchard Park will take on rival Lancaster at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clarence is set to square off against their familiar foe Williamsville North at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
