Basketball Game Preview: Broken Bow Indians vs. Arlington Eagles

The Broken Bow Indians and the Arlington Eagles will face off at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Broken Bow took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed by Sandhills Valley to the tune of 73-35. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broken Bow to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zachary Jackson, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Dominic Nowak was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Broken Bow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Arlington waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 63-50. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

Broken Bow better keep an eye on Trent Koger. He was instrumental in Arlington's win, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 17 boards. What's more, Koger also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Schuyler Logemann was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points.

Broken Bow's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Arlington, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Broken Bow has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.5 rebounds per game.
