Baseball Recap: Soddy Daisy Has No Trouble Against Bradley Central

Soddy Daisy hadn't done well against Bradley Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bears. Considering the Trojans have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Stephen Vickers looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Jake Jackson and Logan Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Williams got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Jackson has posted since back in March. Noah Berry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Soddy Daisy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bradley Central only posted an OBP of .350.

Soddy Daisy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-11-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Bradley Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-15-1.

Soddy Daisy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bradley Central, they are taking a road trip to take on East Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
