Basketball Game Preview: Egyptian Pharaohs vs. Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes

The Egyptian Pharaohs and the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Egyptian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 55 points on Monday, they were much more limited against Cairo on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 99-30 loss at the hands of the Pilots. The match marked the Pharaohs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Zeigler-Royalton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-64 heartbreaker at the hands of Century. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tornadoes have suffered since February 13th.

Egyptian will have to keep a close watch on River Freeman and Lucas Rogers, a pair of players who had a big impact on Zeigler-Royalton's prior game. Freeman dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, while Rogers shot 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. That was a full 37.5% of Zeigler-Royalton's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Johnny Gaddis was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Egyptian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Zeigler-Royalton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
