Baseball Game Preview: Acadiana Christian Lions vs. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool

The Acadiana Christian Lions will challenge Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Acadiana Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Faith Training Christian Academy on Tuesday as Acadiana Christian made off with a 25-9 victory. Considering the Lions have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lane Parks was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Isaiah Burch was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Jaxon Oliver was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Acadiana Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .744. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

After ending last season with four straight defeats, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool opened this season with a bang. They never let Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Monday.

The victory made it two in a row for Acadiana Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16.5 runs. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Acadiana Christian might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Can Acadiana Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
