Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lugoff-Elgin

Lugoff-Elgin extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Teryn Hobson. The Lugoff-Elgin Demons took their game on Monday with ease, bagging a 50-15 victory over the Cathedral Academy Generals thanks in part to Hobson, who went 8 for 16 on her way to 18 points in addition to six steals and four blocks. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Despite the defeat, Cathedral Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Raven Williams posted eight points.

The win got Lugoff-Elgin back to even at 7-7. As for Cathedral Academy, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Lugoff-Elgin will face off against West Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cathedral Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dorchester Academy at 6:10 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
