Baseball Recap: Williams Has No Trouble Against Mohave

Williams had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Mohave on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Thunderbirds. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.

Williams got a massive performance out of Rocque Montoya, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Mario Pedraza, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Williams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mohave only posted an OBP of .353.

Williams' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mohave, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Williams will take on Lowry at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Mohave, they will take on Spring Creek in a tournament on Friday.
