Softball Recap: Ryan Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Ryan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Denton Broncos a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Buettner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Kendall Whitehill was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Britt Pace was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Ryan's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Denton, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19-1.

As of now, neither Ryan nor the Broncos have any future games scheduled.
