Basketball Recap: Kolton Goins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cumberland Gap over Scott

The Cumberland Gap Panthers fell to the Scott Highlanders 59-54. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now lost eight in a row.

Cumberland Gap lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kolton Goins, who posted 20 points and three steals. The game was Goins' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brady Harris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Cumberland Gap's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Scott, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Cumberland Gap wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-47 defeat against Hancock County on the 18th. As for Scott, they will square off against Gibbs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
