Baseball Recap: Central Crossing Comets vs. Briggs Bruins
While Central Crossing put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Briggs. The Comets blew past the Bruins 20-0. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Preston Carter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Central Crossing is 2-1 when Carter posts two or more runs, but 3-19 otherwise.
In other batting news, Central Crossing got a massive performance out of Robert Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Taylor has posted since back in March of 2024. Kyle Richardson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Central Crossing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briggs only posted an OBP of .231.
Central Crossing's record now sits at 5-20. As for Briggs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Crossing will venture away from home to challenge Reynoldsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.18 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Briggs, they will head out on the road to face off against Westland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
