Softball Recap: 14 Straight Home Wins for South Central

South Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Hebron Hawks. For the Satellites, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Lexi Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brooke Perriera was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Cavinder, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

South Central pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Hebron, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

South Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Knox on the 10th. As for Hebron, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-2 defeat against La Porte on the 12th.
