Volleyball Recap: Devyn Bucholz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Raleigh Charter over East Wake Academy + How To Watch

Raleigh Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the East Wake Academy Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

While Raleigh Charter was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-15.

Raleigh Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Devyn Bucholz, who had ten digs and two assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylin Sheng, who had eight digs.

East Wake Academy found their leader in sophomore Avery Schmidt, who had 16 digs and four aces. Schmidt has been hot, having also posted 16 or more assists the last six times she's played. Emerson Morris was another key player, getting six kills, six digs, and one block.

Raleigh Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for East Wake Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
