Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Dulles Takes a Loss

Fort Bend Dulles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 77-28 loss at the hands of the Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.

Despite the loss, Fort Bend Dulles saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Laylah Thornton dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. That's the most points Thornton has posted since back in November of 2024.

Fort Bend Dulles' defeat dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Fort Bend Austin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fort Bend Clements the next time they take the court. Fort Bend Dulles will head out to face Fort Bend Clements at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Fort Bend Austin will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
