Volleyball Recap: Lake Central Indians vs. Benton Central Bison

On Saturday, the Lake Central Indians were able to grind out a solid win over the Benton Central Bison, taking the game 2-0.

Lake Central's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Benton Central between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.

Lake Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Barth out in front who had ten digs. Barth is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Benton Central's loss came despite strong showings from Bella Widmer and Izzy Adams. Widmer had 11 digs and two aces, while Adams had four digs and ten assists.

Lake Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Benton Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-4 record.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Homestead the next time they take the court. Benton Central will head out to face Homestead at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Lake Central will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
