After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Henry County, Campbellsville was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Gallatin County Wildcats.

Kayley Benningfield made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Benningfield was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubreigh Knifley, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lily Murphy, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Campbellsville's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Gallatin County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Campbellsville will look to defend their home field on Monday against Adair County at 6:00 p.m. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gallatin County, they will head out to square off against Paducah Tilghman at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
