Basketball Recap: Blacksburg Comes Up Short

Blacksburg lost against High Point Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blacksburg Wildcats took a blow against the High Point Academy Grizzlies, falling 83-54. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 27th).

High Point Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden McNeil, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 18 points. McNeil is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. J'Sean Sanders was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for High Point Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3.

As of now, neither Blacksburg nor High Point Academy have any future games scheduled.
