Football Recap: Northside - Pinetown Falls Short of Wilson Prep in the Playoffs

Northside - Pinetown and Wilson Prep squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Northside - Pinetown had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Tigers 52-22. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Travon Usher, who rushed for 152 yards and one TD while picking up 7.6 yards per carry for Wilson Prep. Usher's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northside - Pinetown fell to 12-1. As for Wilson Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Northside - Pinetown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson Prep, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Robbinsville on December 11. The Black Knights' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
