Volleyball Game Preview: Torrington Trailblazers vs. Gering Bulldogs

Torrington hasn't had much luck against Gering recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trailblazers will be taking part in a tournament against the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. Gering took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Torrington, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Torrington was able to grind out a solid victory over Burns, taking the game 3-1. The Trailblazers haven't had any issues with the Broncs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15.

Among those leading the charge was Trishell Pontarolo, who had 16 digs. Sophia Wilson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Gering suffered their biggest loss since September 16th on Tuesday. They came up short against Ogallala, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13, 25-19.

Gering's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Torrington, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6-2.

Torrington couldn't quite get it done against Gering in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Trailblazers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
