Volleyball Recap: Cassidy Hayes Key Part of Team Effort in Spartans Win + How To Watch

Central Davidson extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Cayman James. The Spartans came out on top against the Wheatmore Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Monday with plenty of help from James, who had 28 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Central Davidson was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 16-25, 25-14, 25-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Davidson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cassidy Hayes, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Hayes has posted over her last seven matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelynn Rhodes, who had three digs and three aces.

Central Davidson's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Wheatmore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Central Davidson will take on Montgomery Central at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wheatmore, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Providence Grove on the 7th.
