Baseball Recap: East Valley Knights vs. Rogers Pirates

East Valley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 26 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-19 in the process. They lost 10-2 to the Rogers Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-1 loss on Saturday.

East Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyler Goll, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Rogers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-14. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games.

On Rogers' side, Logenn Storer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Storer a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rogers let Jackson Ables and Lucas Hernandez run wild. Ables went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Hernandez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Hernandez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jacob Proctor was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
