Softball Recap: Rodriguez Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rodriguez can now relate to. They fell just short of the East Nicolaus Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amelia Morrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alanna Williams made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Anne Wilde, who got three hits from her three at bats.

Rodriguez's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for East Nicolaus, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-1.

Rodriguez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Nicolaus, they will face off against Las Plumas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.2, the Thunderbirds 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
