Baseball Game Preview: Melbourne Bulldogs vs. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers

The Melbourne Bulldogs will challenge the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Melbourne was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Wheaton Academy 5-4.

Noah Lopez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Bryce Conner was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy earned a 7-2 victory over Cocoa Beach on Saturday.

Seth Monteleon looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 4-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy let Noah Thatcher and Marco Dawson run wild. Thatcher scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Dawson scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Ethan Nunes was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Melbourne, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
