Port Isabel's tournament run continued when they took on Lopez on Thursday. Port Isabel fell just short of Lopez by a score of 3-2.

Port Isabel saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Martinez brought in this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Economedes' offense. They lost 8-0 to Lopez on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Lobos recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Port Isabel's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Economedes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Port Isabel came up short against Economedes in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 13-10. Can Port Isabel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
