Basketball Game Preview: Hudson Pirates vs. Grundy Center Spartans

The Hudson Pirates will take on the Grundy Center Spartans at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Hudson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with seven straight defeats, while Grundy Center will come in with nine straight wins.

Last Friday, Hudson was beaten by South Hardin 80-50.

Meanwhile, Grundy Center humbled Sumner-Fredericksburg with a 79-43 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Grundy Center's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Hudson didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Grundy Center in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win.
